The Global Solar Council is the voice of the world’s solar PV industry, bringing together national and regional associations, companies, and experts to accelerate the global energy transition. Founded at COP21, GSC works across key areas like finance, workforce, supply chains, and grid integration to scale up solar and make clean energy accessible, inclusive, and unstoppable.
The French Renewable Energy Trade Association (SER) was established in 1993 to promote the interests of industrial companies and professionals in the sector to public authorities, Parliament, and all bodies in charge of energy, industry, employment, the environment and research. It brings together, directly and indirectly, several thousand industrial players, companies and R&D centres across all renewable energy sectors. In recent years, SER has significantly strengthened its action in support of the solar energy sector, reflecting its central role in the energy transition and electrification of the French and European economies. A key priority has been agrivoltaics, where SER has played a leading role in shaping the regulatory framework, notably contributing to the development and implementation of the French agrivoltaics decree. The association continues to closely monitor its application in the field, identifying operational challenges and areas for improvement through a dedicated working group that brings together industry stakeholders. SER also maintains a continuous and structured dialogue with the agricultural community, including major representative organisations such as FNSEA, Chambers of Agriculture, and Jeunes Agriculteurs, to ensure alignment between energy and agricultural priorities. In parallel, the association engages on an ongoing basis with public authorities and permitting bodies, supporting a better understanding of projects and facilitating smoother administrative processes. Through these actions, SER aims to foster the sustainable development of solar energy and agrivoltaics in France, ensuring that they contribute effectively to decarbonisation, energy sovereignty, and the resilience of agricultural systems.
