Antanas is an agricultural economist by education. His expertise lies in the EU Common Agricultural Policy (the CAP) and strategies around it. He has a total of 15 years of experience in implementing the CAP at the Member State level as well as developing it at the EU level. He has a strong personal interest in renewable energies, reducing dependences on fossil fuels and electrifying EU’s food supply chains, including means of transport. AgriVoltaics in this respect is an interesting concept. It has a potential to provide multiple gains in terms of efficient use of space, harvest protection from extreme weather events, storage facilities cooling, etc. However, its predominant activity should be agriculture and the primary beneficiary – a farmer.
